The application

Our customer Hübner-Lee from Holzgünz in Bavaria produces flooring systems for a wide range of applications – especially for animal husbandry. The TTE elements enable a wide variety of surfaces to be fixed with just one panel and can be filled and installed in different ways. The elements are connected horizontally and vertically with the help of solid pins. As a lattice system, they enable load distribution over a wide area with drainage. The individual chambers can be filled according to the area of application and, after filling with sand, serve as a stable base for riding arenas. The topsoil under the slab filters the rainwater that seeps into it, which naturally breaks down ammonia and other pollutants.

Sometimes, however, it is not enough to fill with loose fill material to obtain the desired surface properties. The requirement was to develop a permeable system with a slip-resistant surface. In order to ensure that the sensitive joints of large animals are protected, the positive properties of rubber granulate should also be worked out. Conradi+Kaiser subsequently designed a plug-in system that is inserted into the TTE panel in a similar way to a Lego brick. In this way, clean and dry areas can be created for the animals where they can move naturally and feel comfortable. The rubber granulate provides an open-pored surface and works like a sponge. Liquids are quickly drained into the interior of the slab and from there into the subsoil. The animals are kept dry, mud is avoided. In addition, the plug-in system offers a soft and insulating surface. The sensitive joints of horses in particular are protected.

A special benefit: With the combination of Conradi+Kaiser plug-in plasters and TTE panels, the emphasis is on 100 % recycling. The plug-in plaster is made of recycled rubber granulate and has been awarded the TOP Recycling product label by the New Live initiative. The raw material TTE sheets from Hübner-Lee is recovered from “yellow bag” waste. After their period of use, both systems can also be returned to the recycling process. A real benefit – for animals, climate protection and the environment!
